Facing Change Head-On Often Reveals Our Greatest Potential

I’ve learned firsthand that change takes courage. At 19, I bundled my two toddlers into a rickety metal stroller each day and walked to the Adult Education Center, determined to earn my GED. I knew education was my way forward, no matter how hard the journey felt.

That determination carried me through many more years of education; community college and onto UC Berkeley, where I graduated with honors and gave our department’s commencement speech. Standing at that podium in front of thousands of attendees and with my grown children in the audience, I spoke about perseverance and the power of believing in yourself.

Nine years later, having completed a master’s degree in counseling, I discovered my true calling while coaching and teaching at Stanford University. Working alongside brilliant leaders—especially women—I experienced how hard it can be to navigate workplace complexities, even for the most capable professionals. Like me, sometimes they needed someone in their corner, helping them see new possibilities to take the next step forward.

Today, as a leadership coach and consultant with a doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership, I’ve guided over 10,000 professionals and spoken to thousands. But for me, it’s never been about the numbers. It’s about witnessing incredible transformations—women leaders reigniting their passion, rediscovering joy, and bringing purpose back into their work and lives.

People have described my approach as feeling deeply seen and inspired to act. Others call it a “warm hug with a kick in the booty.” Whether coaching one-on-one, leading group programs, or consulting on organizational change, my goal is always to create a safe space for honest exploration while giving a direct, compassionate nudge toward meaningful progress.

If you’re looking for a trustworthy partner to help you face change with confidence, I’m here. Let’s dive in, cut through the noise, and uncover what’s possible—together.
